Purpose :
To define a winch including modeling of cable elements. Cable elements initially connected to a reference node are progressively released over the time-domain simulation to simulate the effect of the cable being paid-out.
Restrictions :
Elements composing the cable must have been defined previously with the proper BCDOF and QCDC parameters.

MINRAT | min length ratio. This value is used to define the minimum length of elements when released. Recommended value is 0.5 |
MAXRAT | max length ratio. This value is used to define the maximum length of elements when released. The next element will be released as soon as the top element length reaches the maximum length. Recommended value is 2.0 |
NBEL | number of elements connected to the reference node |
ID | identification number of the reference node for the winch |
VEL | laying speed in m/s |
Note
All the nodes of the fixed line are given the position of End_2. Once the group is created all the nodes in the fixed section are assigned a 222222 type degrees of freedom through a BCDOF condition. All the nodes of the lines (both parts) are assigned into a QCDC keyword, with connection/disconnection time equal to 1e9s and ddls 000000 if they are on the fixed section or 222222 for the free section. If the free line is split, this assignment will only extend to the split, split excluded, otherwise it extends to End_1, End_1 excluded. A reference node is created at the winch location on which the winch BC are applied. The boundary condition should be restricted to pin/clamp (maybe user defined). If the winch is linked to a FPSO or other object, this node will be slave of the required fairlead. If a fixang is necessary, it has to be imposed on that reference node.
